Xeriscape

Water-smart landscapes that thrive in Colorado

About Our Xeriscape Work

Colorado's semi-arid climate makes water-wise landscaping not just smart — it's essential. Xeriscape design uses drought-tolerant native plants, efficient irrigation, and smart mulching to create beautiful yards that need a fraction of the water of traditional lawns. Our xeriscape projects are designed to look stunning from day one and improve every year as plants establish and mature.

A well-designed xeriscape isn't a gravel lot with a few cacti — it's a layered, intentional landscape that moves through the seasons with color, texture, and wildlife habitat. We design with Colorado native grasses, wildflowers, and shrubs that are adapted to your specific elevation and microclimate. We install drip irrigation zoned by plant water needs, and mulch all beds with 3–4 inches of organic or rock mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Many of our xeriscape projects qualify for water district rebates — we help you identify and apply for available incentives as part of the project.

Our Standards

Water Reduction

Typical xeriscape reduces outdoor water use by 50–75% vs. traditional lawn

Mulch Depth

3–4" organic or rock mulch on all planting beds — weed suppression and moisture retention

Irrigation

Drip irrigation zoned by plant water needs — no overhead spray on native plantings

Rebates

We assist with water district rebate applications for qualifying turf removal projects

What's Included

Native Plant Design

Colorado native grasses, wildflowers, shrubs, and trees that thrive without supplemental irrigation once established. We design for four-season interest, not just summer color.

Drip Irrigation Systems

Precision drip systems that deliver water directly to root zones — eliminating runoff and evaporation. Zoned by plant type and water need for maximum efficiency.

Decorative Rock & Mulch

River rock, decomposed granite, and organic mulch that suppress weeds, retain soil moisture, and give your xeriscape a finished, intentional look.

Lawn Conversion

Full-service turf removal and xeriscape conversion — including rebate paperwork for qualifying Colorado water districts. We handle the whole process.
